I read the Stacy Westfall Blog post, " The first horse I refused to train" this morning with great interest, frustration, and applause. Before you read my commentary below, go read her post!
Okay, you're back. Now take a breath, reflect, and read on.
I have a very clear and firm standard of how things roll at my farm and will not bend my rules or principles to suit someone for the almighty dollar (and Rick is in total agreement). I frankly don't care to and will not have anyone at my farm that does not hold the same beliefs and horsemanship ideals. I don’t want anyone here that cares more about goals than principles (it is not all about the blue ribbon folks). I also am not willing to bend and do not want anyone at our farm that does not put safety as a priority. Safety for the horse, safety for the human, safety for the facility.
We built our farm for our horses and our enjoyment, period. The fact that we have decided to open the doors to help others is not by necessity but out of love and compassion for horses and their human partners (and that certainly can change at any time should we decide). Our events are done by registration, visits by appointment, and we choose what we offer and don't offer, who can come, and who can be asked to leave, immediately, if they don't abide by our rules. We have the fortune of owning and operating a private facility supported by our outside (non-horsey) careers. Anyhow, be safe, enjoy horsemanship, and know that others cannot bully you into anything else---don’t let them, not under any circumstance, ever.

Essential oils are adaptable, effective, and valuable when trying to maintain a chemical free, healthier lifestyle. This applies to you, your home, and even your animals (dogs, cats, horses, and much more). This class is not a sales pitch as we use a variety of essential oils from various organic companies. We will look at several options and criteria when choosing essential oils. This class is a beginner’s look at the holistic uses of essential oils. Attendees will gain valuable information about:
•What essential oils are
•How to start incorporating them into your life
•How essential oils are manufactured
•Why essential oils are powerful
•Effectiveness vs. Therapeutic value
•Application techniques and use...s for humans, dogs, and horses
•Essential oils you cannot do without
•Review of reference materials
CLASS FEE: $20

As many of you know, my dog Daisy is 17 years old now. Today, she was super active and eating great. She has had several naps and seemed okay. Then, she seemed to have two serious episodes. I thought perhaps small seizures but now I think she may have gotten knocked by the other dogs. I also think her arthritis was hurting and she may have hurt her back (a common theme in her life). I even thought... she might die today. I fed her this evening and she ate well (this is new over the last several days thanks to great advice from my friend a holistic vet who unfortunately for us lives in VA). Anyhow, I gave Daisy red light therapy, massage, Reiki (my hands were on fire during the session), and a raindrop technique essential oils therapy. She is now resting happily and comfortably near the wood stove. Please say a prayer for her tonight and or send her healing energy. I am not ready to
say goodbye yet.

Reiki 1 Class on Saturday was simply incredible. The participants (animals and people) all did really well. I ran it having lecture and hands on components (using my higher ed skills), fed them delicious, light, healthy food during the break too. They have a website that I created with more info and got manuals and handouts during class. All appreciated and well received.
Oh, and the animals were genuine and clear and incredible. Each horse, each dog, has different needs (like people) and they were clear to us. They told us what they wanted. Some love it, others not so much which helps demonstrate principles, reactions, course of action, etc. I could not have asked for better. One participant noted that it was proof of the reality of Reiki energy. During the hands on people portion, they remarked that my hands were emitting a great deal of heat---truly, they were on fire, the energy was outrageous and wonderful.
Afterwards, I was wiped out, exhausted, but buzzing...so awesome.
This week I am giving my students a second attunement at a distance. I am also teaching a distance education student Reiki 1 (she is in Texas, I am in NY). Techology will help us for sure!
I am busy setting up an essential oils class for some local teachers, the equine first aid classes are scheduled, monthly Reiki shares, and more Reiki classes too! I would love to get more Reiki treatment sessions booked as well...working on that one. :)
Anyhow, if you are reading this, life is good, really good. ox
