Bugs be gone...wait, they already are!

I am the primary caregiver for my horses, dogs, cat, chickens, and cockatiel....oh, and my husband (of course myself too). Over the last several months, I have been changing my old ideas into new, more healthy and natural ones, not perfection but one step at a time.

As an example, for the dogs, flea and tick prevention was always the products from the vet. I decided that for my family, those toxic substances needed to go. I have been using Young Living Essential Oils for man...y things now instead of chemicals. For the dogs and cat, Purification. I put a few drops on them and pet them to move it around their fur. Keep in mind, I have four dogs and a cat, we live in the woods and in the country on a horse farm. I can definitively report that everyone is free of bug pests...no fleas, no ticks, and repelled mosquitoes too! They all had a bath this morning so I got up close and personal!

I cannot stop talking about essential oils because they have naturally replaced so many things in my life and the lives of my beloved animals from uses for pain, uses instead of antibiotics, pest repellent, and so much more. I had no idea until I got started. I read and research a great deal and the sky is the limit. By the way, I also have a remedy for people and horses to deter bugs if you wondered...yeah, natural solutions for the barn too.

I post about essential oils on my blog and on my Facebook Page called Young Living with Savvy Horse Girl. If you want to ask questions, let me know. Truly, you can live a natural life. I am a distributor of YLEO because I wanted the better pricing, I never intended to try to get other people signed up and using the oils and now, I cannot stop sharing!

Our farm is all about holistic horse care and natural training, and now our home is about holistic living, life is truly good and I want my family to live long and thrive. (I am also working on eating whole foods...a process for me, more on that later.)

(Always consult your veterinarian or medical professional.  These comments are merely a story of my own beliefs and personal experiences. Please remember that I am not giving you medical advice.)

Living with Gratitude

Gratitude: Louie Schwartzberg at TEDxSF

I have started down a journey trying to live a life of enlightenment and gratitude.  I see each day in a new light, each molecule more clearly, everything I see and touch, everything I experience has been heightened.  My animals and my husband can see it and are affected too, is a positive way.  Our life is wonderful, beautiful, and I am ever so grateful.  That is probably why I always want to share all that I can with anyone whom is interested. This is why I am and who I am, experimenting with a more holistic outlook, lifestyle, and so forth.

If you have but just a few minutes of time, please watch the video above, reflect, react, and find joy. Go hug your horse, love your family, embrace new things, enjoy life. Rick and I are working hard to make dreams come true but in reflection, our dreams are reality already, the rest is window dressing....how interesting.

Becoming me, a new age of enlightenment

I don't know where to start and have struggled to even start this post.  My entire life has been in a whirlwind, especially in a good way since my Reiki 2 training and attunement. I am simply on fire! My mind and energy is flowing and I cannot get enough new information in, I cannot share fast enough, and everything else is connected.  My interest in living more naturally and holistically has gone into over drive.  I am removing chemicals from my life, using essential oils, red light, crystals, flower essences, and trying to learn anything now I can to live and share a wholesome, healthy life for me, my family, and my animals. (And, Rick is on board...the best he can be anyway.) And, yes, I still go to Weight Watchers.  This have been good but slow, my fault but perhaps there is a reason and something I needed to learn because I am starting to feel and look better and the scale is cooperating again.

I recently had a visitor at the farm looking at the barn mentioning how I could make money if I would just get lesson horses and board....what everyone else does, what people ask for, and what I don't want to do.  At that moment, it became all too clear that indeed my alternative and chosen path was where I needed to be, not the status quo.  This realization was important in my progress forward. My Reiki teacher has really been supportive and is helping me remember to realize my dreams and that indeed they can come true.

Rick has been super busy as have I, working on construction, gardening (vegetable and flowers), planning, and more. Life is great, life is brilliant, life is all that I've ever wanted. Today is our wedding anniversary, 24 happy years!

Read Labels and Be Clear About Your Expectations

Yesterday, I was in the local co-op and I came across the essential oils section. I just placed an order for YL oil products to assist my dog and an injury she has.  I am also awaiting my June Essential Rewards order to stock up the barn with some must-haves for summer (I will post later about that ). Anyhow, I decided to take a look - a week moment for me. The prices are much less than YL and my wallet is a bit dry with all of the barn projects. Anyhow, I know that many so-called pure oils out there are adulterated with synthetics and other things you don't want to know about. I smelled the peppermint and the aroma was chemical-like, not good, I smelled a few others and they were just off, they were simply harsh and chemical-like.  I won't divulge the brand because that is not fair nor my place. I was however, for me, quickly reminded that you get what you pay for.

I also checked out a spray product for pets (flea and tick remedy) at another store and although there were essential oils in it (not sure of the quality but I know they were not YL), there were other ingredients that I didn't recognize and an FDA statement in the affirmative about it being a repellent which made me feel concerned.

I decided that I would not want to use something I could not identify on myself let alone my animals. I have stopped using chemical-based parasite remedies, I cannot tell you how foolish I felt. I want quality, purity, and safety in my essential oils and that is why I only use Young Living for my farm and family. I am so happy that read the labels and had this experience. It just confirms my desires for a holistic, healthy, and natural life for my family.  Please remember that you should always consult your physician or veterinarian about and medical matters and that my postings, although based on reference materials and shared information, are just opinions and experiences, not medical advice. Remember, when starting essential oils with your family and critters, go slowly, respect their reactions to different oils, listen and learn.

If you are interested in joining me and signing up, let me know. If you want me to host an online or in-person workshop, I can do that too! Let's talk, YLEO will truly change your world.

Wow, that smells delicious!

Last night I was drinking a seltzer in the barn and my husband commented on how aromatic and wonderful it smelled. I then told him to sniff me instead...it was me, or rather, it was Young Living's Valor. I wore it yesterday while I planted our new Tree of Love and Light which includes a garden of violet and white flowers. It is a memorial to all who we have love and lost (people and animals alike).

"Valor® is an empowering combination of therapeutic-grade essential oils that works with both the physical and spiritual aspects of the body to increase feelings of strength, courage, and self-esteem in the face of adversity. Renowned for its strengthening qualities, Valor enhances an individual's internal resources. It has also been found to help energy alignment in the body."

For your horse, it can instill confidence, help balance and align the body, works great during high-stress events, and is typically the first used when doing Raindrop technique. It is great for chiropractic and massage. Valor is for topical and inhalation use - not used orally. It is a blend of Frankincense, Blue Tansy, Rosewood, Almond, and Spruce oils.

If you are interested in more information about essential oils for you, your farm, and your pets, let me know. And, if you are interested and ready to pursue buying YL therapeutic essential oils retail or wholesale, I can help you get started. Check out my website (and sign up there). You can buy a $15 bottle of oils to try them out or better yet, get a starter kit and start living a healthier life by incorporating the everyday oils for you and your family (fur kids included of course). I can guide you in understanding how to use them, when, and which ones! https://www.youngliving.org/savvyhorsegirl

Meditating with Your Horse

Have you ever thought about meditating before playing with your horse? What about meditating with your horse?  WHY NOT?! What a great way to partner and communicate.  I love the idea of meditation and Reiki with my horse on the ground and in the saddle.  It creates a connection like no other. The way in which you chose to meditate is certainly an individual one.  What the desired effect is of course is a happy horse and a happy human!

And, if you don't know how to meditate, why not just spend some undemanding time with your horse....you remember this lesson from Parelli, right? I've written about it many times. CLICK HERE to read an old task challenge I wrote about giving your horse undemanding time.  The point is, there is way more to you owning a horse than just riding,  it is a relationship you should build on and find creative ways to do so. I am getting a diffuser and essential oils specifically for the barn because I use them in the house on a regular basis and cannot share! :) I love the addition of aromatherapy to the mix.  Just this morning I gave Morgan, my Great Dane Reiki and used YL Lavender on her...she loved it.

Here are some recommendations for meditation oils. There are many more singles and blends. Please see the links below as they have a lot of information about this. The prices I listed are the retail price, not wholesale. Wholesale is cheaper but you’d have to buy a starter kit and have a wholesale account. If you did decide to do that, the premium kit (best value, $150) has a diffuser which would be really nice for setting up a space for meditation. (FYI – 5mL bottles of Peace & Calming, Frankincense, and Thieves are included in the premium kit’s everyday essential oils set.)

To sign up, CLICK HERE or check out my Young Living with Savvy Horse Girl Website and then click on the sign-up button.

Let me know if I can help any further.

Peace & Calming 15mL $43

Sacred Frankincense 15mL $118, 5mL $55

Frankincense 15mL $94

Grounding 5mL $22

Awaken 15mL $62

Sandalwood 5mL $118

Thieves 15mL $44 (for clearing/cleansing before meditation)

I am now Reiki II Certified!

I am happy to share that I now have Reiki II Certification.  I plan to get Reiki Master/Teacher Certification in the fall.  I've been using Reiki, crystal therapy, essential oils, and photonic red light therapy at home and in my barn with great successes for my animals and my husband and I.  It is truly an interesting and holistic life we lead and it fits perfectly with natural horsemanship! I can only hope that I will be able to spread the message and share my knowledge with horse people in my area. I can say that I am connecting with all kinds of fascinating people now and am loving it!

More construction updates!

I just wanted to share some additional photos from our project.  Enjoy! (They are not necessarily in the order of the actual work.) Rick has been amazing as has our electrical contractor.  More to come as the work continues....who wants to come and play?!
